Ellie is passionate about the study of movement and all its role in living a full and healthy life.
Ellie spent her teenage years pursuing a career as a professional ballet dancer. During those
years she was plagued with injury, which lead her to rediscover her love of Pilates. After retiring
as a dancer and spending several years of teaching ballet for the Houston Ballet Academy, Ellie
decided to move forward with a Pilates certification through the Balanced Body teacher
training program.
Under the guidance of her master trainer, Karen Sanzo MS PT, Ellie gained a deeper
understanding of how developing a sustainable movement practice can enrich the lives of
everyone. Joseph Pilates says that true physical fitness is being able to perform “our many and
varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.” This captures the essence of what Ellie
believes about movement practice. We exercise to live not live to exercise!
Ellie hopes that each person who walks into her class gains a deeper understanding of how
their body works, and leaves feeling confident and at home in their body.
